Elsa Peretti’s Mesh Scarf is one of those designs that stops people mid-sentence. Sterling silver, woven so finely that it drapes and slides around the neck like an actual silk scarf. Tie it, knot it, wrap it, or wear it long.

Peretti joined Tiffany & Co. in 1974 and pretty much rewrote modern jewelry with her organic shapes and her love of sterling silver. The idea for the Mesh collection came from her time in Jaipur, India, where the traditional metalwork got her thinking about making precious metal move like fabric. Tiffany still makes the Mesh Scarf today, which says a lot about its staying power, but there’s nothing quite like a vintage one.

Ours has developed a gorgeous patina, and we’re happy to polish it if you prefer it bright.
