Description
A Victorian double owl wrap bracelet, engraved “Lilian Aug 24 1882,” so this one comes with a date attached. Woven 14kt gold links wrap gently around the wrist and finish in two owl heads facing outward, their bright yellow eyes giving the whole thing a charming, almost lifelike wink.
Owls were a favorite Victorian motif, standing for wisdom, protection and watchfulness: a little guardian to wear every day. The woven goldwork (sometimes called gas pipe or mesh) was popular in the late 1800s for good reason. It’s flexible, almost fabric-like, and moves beautifully with you.
