Description
Before big dials and steel sports watches, telling time could be a private affair, and “secret” watches were delicate jewels that kept it quietly. In the 1950s, Patek Philippe made the idea an art form: gold and diamond bracelets with a tiny lid that flips open to reveal the dial. Collectors now call them “peek-a-boo” watches, and they’re among the most charming chapters in Patek’s history.
This rare example is just as exquisite as a bracelet as it is a timepiece, with baguette diamonds across the cover and graduated diamonds along the sides. On the wrist, simply stunning.
