Description
A rare vintage Niessing pendant in 24kt gold, and it looks like nothing else in our case. The gold is folded into soft, overlapping rings that remind us of ripples in water (or a topographic map, depending on who you ask). There isn’t a single stone on it. The star is that deep, buttery color only pure gold has, catching the light a little differently every time it moves.
Niessing has been making jewelry in Germany since 1873 and is known for a pared-back, Bauhaus-minded approach: strong form, very little ornament, and a real focus on the metal itself. This pendant is that philosophy in a nutshell. For the modernist in your life (you, obviously).
