The torque shape goes all the way back to the ancient Celts and Romans, and in the 1970s and 80s Cartier gave it their own spin with the Trinity motif. Louis Cartier dreamed up Trinity in 1924: three golds, three meanings (rose for love, yellow for fidelity, white for friendship). You usually see it as a ring or a stack of bands, and twisting it into one thick, smooth cable like this is a much trickier feat. Collectors, take note.
